Our best Kettlewell Walks
Kettlewell is a hub for family friendly walks and we have loads of walks in the Wharfedale area but here are a few of our favourites!
Do you want to find a waterfall? Head 10 minutes down the road to Buckden Beck waterfalls (pictured)
Looking for a peak to bag? Why not climb Great Whernside which is a walk that starts and ends in Kettlewell and heads past the area where the Kettlewell Lead Smelting Mill used to be! It’s open for visitors, and whilst there isn’t much left to see, there are information boards about its history, and you can explore the place where it was. And the reason why there’s not much left to see? It was blown up by army! You can find out more about that at the site! What 3 Words: rainy.minds.whisk
Want a short easy walk? The walk to the stepping stones in Kettlewell is a classic wander!

Would you like to go pony trekking? The Kilnsey Trekking and Riding Centre is just down the road from Grassington and offers pony treks for all abilities ranging from beginners upwards. Top Tip: book early as they get busy, particularly in the Summer months.
Fancy going fishing? At Kilnsey Park you can go to use their family pond! Any trout you catch you can take away (there is a charge and it is additional if you’d like them to prepare the fish you’ve caught as well). There is also a small farm there, nature reserve and a family trail up to the Holy Spring (apparently the water’s make you eternally youthful…. can confirm…. 100% TRUE ….. disclaimer: not true)
Do you want to go cycling? This is one for the older kids, as the age limit is 14 plus, but if you fancy hiring an e-bike, Grassington E-bike hire is the place to go!

There are some top paddling spots upstream of the bridge at the river near the pay and display car park too. Always supervise children around water.
