Easter Egg Hunts and Trails in and around the Yorkshire Dales
There are SO many opportunities to hunt down a cheeky Easter Egg this Easter or take part in a family friendly trail.
So below, you’ll find all the of the egg hunts and Easter trails in and around the Yorkshire Dales, ranging from all singing and dancing events, to community trails.
Bolton Abbey Easter Trail
What Date: 23 March -14 April 2024
How much: £15 per car (£12.50 if booked in advance) the trail is included in the usual admission charges.
Where? Bolton Abbey Estate, North Yorkshire
What’s going on? The trail heads through the Strid Woods from the Riverside Car Park and you will get the opportunity to complete a trail sheet.
Harlow Carr Easter Egg Hunt
What Dates? 23 March - 7 April 2024
How Much? Prices begin from £15.85 for adults and £7.95 for children RHS members are free.
Where? Harrogate
What’s Going on?
There is gigantic Easter Egg hunt taking place around the grounds of Harlow Carr. When you’ve found all the eggs, you get a chocolate egg yourself!

Bolton Castle Easter Trail
What Dates? 23 March - 5 April 2024
How Much? Adults £15 Children £12.50 (trail included in admission)
Where? Near Leyburn North Yorkshire.
What’s Going on?
Join in with the Easter Egg hunt at Bolton Castle. Find all the eggs and a take a picture with the final one for a chocolate prize! Booking is advised so head to the Bolton Castle Website.
Ingleton Easter Egg Hunt
What Dates? 23 March - 7 April 2024
How Much? £2/ sheet
Where? Ingleton, North Yorkshire.
What’s Going on?
Between 9am and 4pm, pick up your trail sheet from Seasons Bakery and follow the map to unscramble the letters! Why not tie it in with a trip to the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail or to White Scar Cave?
Ripley Castle Easter Trail
What Dates? 23 March - 8 April 2024
How Much? £3.50/ child (on top of admission charges)
Where? Near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
What’s Going on? Head to Ripley Castle this Easter for a trail and Easter Crafts! You can head to the Ripley Castle Website for more.
Easter Egg Hunt at Brimham Rocks
What Dates? 29 March - 1 April 2024
How Much? £3.50 per trail sheet plus parking charges. No booking required. Price includes trail sheet, bunny ears and an Easter egg.
Where? Brimham Rocks, near Pateley Bridge, Nidderdale
What’s Going on? The trail will take you around the rock, you’ll play bingo, make bug hotels and there’s a chocolate egg at the end. Collect trail sheets from the car park.
Kilnsey Pony Trekking Easter Egg Hunt
What Dates? 28 March - 1 April 2024
How Much? Treks start from £15 contact the centre for more information.

Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt

Studfold Easter Egg and Fairy Hunt

What’s Going on?
Pick up a clue sheet and then explore and discover large willow nests, eggs, golden rabbits and the famous Studfold Spring Fairies! Booking is essential and is available through the Studfold website.
Thorp Perrow Easter Fun
What Dates? 16 March to 8 April 2024 (Live Action 7-10 April)
How Much? Standard entry plus £2.50 per trail sheet. (Pre booking will secure a discount)

You need to collect clues around this Beatrix Potter themed trail for your chance to win a prize!
Fountains Abbey Easter Egg Hunt
What Dates? 23 March - 7 April 2024
How Much? Free for National Trust members. Prices start from Adult: £18 Child: £9 Family discounts are available. Trail sheets are £3. No booking is required.
Where? Near Ripon, North Yorkshire
What’s Going on?
The Easter Trail heads around the abbey ruins where you’ll find nature inspired activities for all. The price includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end.
Of course, there’s also the epic adventure playground too!
Hesketh Farm Easter Egg Hunt

Nell Bank Easter Egg Hunt

What’s Going on?
Head over to Nell Bank for an Easter Egg Hunt with lots of nature activities to enjoy, as well as their adventure playground, toddler trail and water play area. Tickets can be booked through the Nell Bank Website.

Easter Holidays at Stump Cross Caverns

When is the outdoors indoors? IN A CAVE!
There will be a party with Cavewoman, Fossil and Gem digs over this Easter! There will also be a Dino Easter Egg hunt in the caves. The trail is free with the cave entry.

Coniston Country Estate and Spa Easter Event

What’s going on? The Coniston Country Hotel are holding their annual Easter trail around the grounds. The ticket includes the trail and sheet, meeting the Easter Bunny, an Easter Egg for the kids! A pop up pizza place is being put on (Booking is required so head to the Coniston Hotel website. )
Easter at Birchfield Ice Cream Farm

This year, Mother Shipton is hosting a brand new Easter Bunny Tipi Trail where lots of surprises are waiting to be found! There will be Easter Stories, Easter Scenes and the chance to meet the Mad Hatter and plant giant carrots with the Gardener too!
